I’m Peggy Degnan, founder of Family Friend Catering.

When I was a kid, I would sit in the kitchen with my mom and watch her cook, always tasting as she went to make sure the final meal was delicious. Mom loved cooking for other family members and friends for special occasions. Pouring her love into a few dishes, all to give satisfaction to others.

These things stuck with me. And when the time came, she taught me her secrets:  how to get the most out of every ingredient, the right combination of herbs and spices and some great techniques that made the entire process easy. I fell in love with cooking!

I started catering with my family. When weddings, baby showers or other parties were taking place, I always brought something to share. Then friends began contacting me asking for help until the one day when a woman I had never met (a friend of a friend’s friend!) called me and asked about my services. She had been at a party I catered and loved it. She inquired about my catering services and Family Friend was born.

My clients have parties for up to 60 people and are primarily interested in small bites. Since each gathering is unique, I pride myself in working with the host in order to create a custom menu that entice a variety of tastes and dietary requirements. I make sure that your guests will have many options that keep them coming back for more.

I have taken after my mom in that I love cooking and providing great food for others.

This was the origins of Family Friend Catering:  an opportunity to provide unique food to great friends.
